It is with great sadness I am posting about the loss of our sweet doodle girl, Bella. She had developed and abscess and colitis in the last week and was battling those infections, all the while the cancer became very aggressive and spread into her spleen. It's been awhile since I've posted. We have been trying to enjoy each day to the fullest, as we know they are numbered. Bella's nodes are still enlarged despite changing drug protocols. They have actually gotten larger (in her neck) and this "doodle mum" is very scared. I am waiting to speak to the oncologist to decide what, if any, steps we can take next. It has been an emotional evening.  Just found out at Bella's appointment today that she has lost remission.  Her submandibular and prescapular lymph nodes are again enlarged.  We did not rush into a rescue protocol.  However, instead of Vincristine, Bella received Doxyrubicin, the most potent drug in her current protocol.  Please pray that my furgirl responds to this well.  I'm so very scared for her.  I have also asked to be referred for a second opinion at another veterinary hospital in…

Bella is currently having a good day.  She has received 10 chemotherapy treatments (on the Madison Wisconsin protocol).  She has had many ups and downs with GI side effects post treatments including vomiting and days of not eating.  She will receive her 11th treatment (Vincristine) this Friday (3/21/13).
