Abusing your money, food and shelter?

I work in the ICU and when we admit someone, we have to ask everyone if "someone is abusing their money, food or shelter"… I always laugh and say "you must not have teenagers!  when they say no!

We always had to ask that too... I worked in the ER we would have to ask if they felt safe at home, did anyone physically mentally abuse them ...

I would say, "YES, the government"  Can you fix that?"

What a strange question?  I guess somehow this is supposed to protect the vulnerable?
