What funny things do your doodles do to demand your attention? Hudson never gets into anything. We are very lucky because even as a puppy he rarely got into anything. He does, however, take items of interest (usually pens/pencils) and will sit close by with it hanging out of his mouth. He usually just sits like a statue by the sofa and stares in your direction, trying to get you to look at him. Once in awhile he will do a walk by with the forbidden object, with a glance upwards of his eyes to catch your gaze. He never chews these items, they are used merely to demand more attention.

On this particular day, I was folding laundry near the sofa (his usual attention grabbing spot, and out of the corner of my eye I noticed him sitting across the room from me, just staring at me. What funny things do your doodles do to get your attention?

This is a perfect picture of Hudson acting oh so innocent!   CUTE CUTE CUTE!     Banjo will grab towels, newspaper, mail, glasses....oh well...let's just say whatever we're dumb enough to leave within his reach and run by just trying to entice us into a game of "catch me if you can".   It's become quite a game of getting us up on our butts to chase him around the dining room table and/or sofa until he practically gives up in giggles.  Any other dog and this would drive us batty.....but somehow Banjo makes it all fun!

Shelly, Hudson definitely has that same look you describe Tori of doing "Uh hellooooo.... can't you see I have somethin' here!" For Christmas he got a Cheetah that has a water bottle in the middle of it so it makes a crackling sound and a raccoon that is flat- no stuffing. He hasn't had stuffed animal toys in a long time because he has always destroyed them in a short while. One of the objects he likes to steal is Webkinz from Emily's room. His favorite one is the Pinto pony :). Now that he has his own stuffed animals, he doesn't realize that they are actually his. He has been picking them up and doing the walk by and glance or stare with his eyes at us. He thinks he shouldn't have them. It has been pretty funny!

Dori- Sometimes Hudson will relinquish the object when we walk up to him with "that look" on our face and a stern "Hudson....". Other times, he does the Doodle Dash and we have to chase him, which is actually what he really wants as part of his attention grabbing game. When we win that game and he knows he lost, he just drops his head and releases the object. :)

LOL.. I'm laughing because I can CLEARLY see this picture in my head even before seeing your picture... this isTORI I love how you described it..."walk by".. When we ignore Tori when she steals a show, etc... she pops her head around the corner of the room we're in as if to say..."Uh, hellloooo... can't you see I have somethin' here!" - LOL these dogs are just too funny!

Gracie Doodle is just like Frannie's Callie.  The tennis ball gets dropped and then she looks at us, down at the ball, and back up at us.  She reminds us of Lassie.  She communicates with her head motion and eyes.  She points with her head, makes eye contact and then gets us to follow  her eyes and head to the subject.  Most of the time the tennis ball gets very carefully placed on my keyboard, mouse pad or on the kitchen table.  Then she stands back and waits for me to see it.  If I don't then she gives the low moan like growl like little Tara does to get my attention.  When I am weeding the yard she puts her ball in my weed bucket or right on top of the weed I am getting ready to pull.  She is such a silly girl and keeps us laughing all the time!!

Love it.  How do you get Hudson to give the item back to you?  Rua will theif paper from my office trash or socks from the laundry basket and will fiercely defend it from me.  Yet, if it is a toy or a "da do da do" (think saying this thru an empty toilet paper tube [and small dog], she will let me take it out of her month (which I praise) and give it back to her.

I've loved hearing what your Doodles do- they sure are smart and know how to get what they want! I just love it when Hudson does his statue like pose with his attention grabbing object and he just moves his eyes to look over or up at me. LIke some of your Doodles, he also bumps his head under my hand/arm while I'm typing on the computer or just lays his head in my lap and looks up at me with his eyes. He knows I can't resist that one.

OMD what an adorable picture. When I am at the computer and Harlow wants attention she will push her head up under my "mousing" hand.

Ned grabs a toy/bone in his mouth, chortles and if you are sitting or reclining, prances all over you and WILL NOT stop..  I used to think it was cute, now, not so much.
