Another fun-filled day at the Bangkok Triathlon yesterday. Chewie and I went along to support DH as usual.
Here's Chewie at the Start/Finish line. He's entered in the Canine 1-2 years category.
Check out Chewie in his triathlon gear. Ready to swim, chase bikes and chase runners!
After the race, Chewie got a nice traditional Thai massage from a very nice little massage therapist.
Here's a picture of our little family (DH, me and Chewie). This is the 4th triathlon that Chewie's been to, so some of the athletes and their supporters remember him already. (I'm known as "Chewie's mom" as usual)
Chewie's first triathlon was this same event last year. Look at how small he was a year ago...
After we got home, DH checked the race results online and found out that he finished 2nd in his category (Male 30-39)!! Had we known, we would have stayed on for the award ceremony where he will get a trophy! This is the first time he's had a place-finished and we're all very proud of him. Will take a picture of the trophy once we're able to locate and pick it up from the event organizers.

Kimmy your triathlon sounds much better : )
@F and Laurie, good idea. I was also thinking of eat, sleep and watch tv as another form of triathlon, I'd really enjoy :)
@ Jennifer, thanks. it was a lot of fun. Quite tiring though as the event was quite long (over 4 hours)...Chewie slept all afternoon after the event.
@Leslie, Yes, triathlon (and outdoors events) are held in public areas where dogs are allowed, so I jump at the chance to bring Chewie along. Not many people do this though. Chewie's the only dog there. Thailand's actually NOT a very dog friendly country with few parks, restaurants and hotels allow dogs to enter :(
Way to go, DH!! It's so great that Chewie can go with you to enjoy these events.
LOVE the pictures-looks like SO much fun! Congrats to your DH!!
Laurie that's just the kind of triathlon we both might win : ) Poor Chewie, it does look like a fun toy.
LOL. Chewie's "proud-look" is actually a result of the "STAY" command. He's dying to have a go at the pretty ribbons on the trophy. He's extra alert because he (incorrectly) assumes that the trophy is a new shiny toy.
After this picture was taken, I had to quickly grab the trophy and place it out of reach of excited Chewie.
F, I just read your comment directed to me. Thank you for a good laugh :) If they would let me do the swim on my pontoon boat, the run in my van, and the bike ride on a motorcycle, I might stand a chance. LOL
Laurie, if you could carry that trophy everywhere you might have a chance at winning a triathlon : ) Chewie does look proud.
Great picture, Kimmy. If I did a triathlon I would take my trophy with me everywhere....LOL :)
LOL- Chewie looks very proud!
