After catching yet another stray dog near my house(AGAIN) a couple of days ago, Clark suggested that I get myself a catch pole ;-)

What do you think? Can you see me running around the neighborhood with one of these???

The local dog catcher was in line ahead of me at the cafeteria today... I gave him my number and he's going to find a catalog for me! tee hee hee :-)

This dog looks easy to catch. I doubt most of them would just lay there...you might have to do a lot of running.

when Adina is on the job they sure do! LOL-- just kidding. They are either friendly and happily come to me or run the other way. My latest catch was somewhere in between. She hesitated as she wandered around someone's lot but I kept approaching and eventually she came near. I have one of the loopy leashes and I made the part that goes around the neck really wide and nonchalantly slipped it over the dog's neck. We then crossed the street back to my house where I called animal control. She was just way too frightened and I did not want to get any fear aggression out of her. So I let the cop risk his life instead. :-) I looped the hand loop over the gate in my yard and went inside to get out some treats and kibble. She had no interest.
When the cop arrived, she still would not allow him to look at her collar. She just kept turning away and pulling away on the leash. So I ran into the house, and brought out a chunk of feta cheese as well as a slice of American cheese... Thinking that the stinky feta would surely entice her over near the cop. no interest in the stinky cheese. But the cop eventually just braved it and got a hold of her collar and read the address and phone. The whole time that he was touching her collar she shivered in fear. Poor doggie :-(
but thankfully she did have an address and phone number on her collar tag.
