Chewie @Hua Hin Triathlon 2011, Thailand

Chewie's dad (my husband) was entered in the Queen's Cup Hua Hin International Triathlon in August 2011.

Hua Hin is a sea-side town about 2.5 hours drive south from Bangkok.

I found a dog-friendly hotel in Hua Hin and took Chewie along to support his daddy.

The triathlon involves a 1.5km swim, 45km bike ride and a 10km run.

Here's Chewie and me waiting by the beach for daddy to come out of the swim leg.

Chewie seems to love playing by the beach. We played fetch while we wait, but it's not very successful 'cos this is what happened.

I throw the ball. Chewie runs after it. Chewie jumps on the ball with both paws to "stop the ball". But what this does is bury the ball deep into the sand so he cannot find it. I'd have to walk over and help dig out the ball.

Drool and sand results in a very messy but always cute doodle.

About 3 hours later, my husband (Right) crosses the Finish Line with Chewie (Center) intow.

Wow, what a great day for everyone, your husband looks awfully fresh for just having finished a triathlon. Chewie has the right idea, join up just before the finish line and look good coming across.

Thank you for sharing.  I am so impressed with anyone who does triathlons.  Why doesn't Vack look tired?  One of my son did sprint triathlons as a teenager and loved it, but school and other sports got in the way. I hope he gets back to it.

Thank you everyone for your kind words! :) The whole family had a great time that day. Including husband who was exhasted but happy 'cos he got a new personal best time.

@Nancy, It was actually Chewie's 2nd time at beach, but he still didn't know what to do with the sand. LOL.

What an adorable family!!!  Congratulations to Vack.  Was this Chewy's first time in the sand?  He looks like he was having a wonderful time but I sure do know about the sand and all.  My GracieDoodle loves the beach and she loves to swim in the ocean too!  I love the photo of Chewy and his daddy running across the finish line.  I bet they got a huge cheer from the crowd!  Thanks for sharing :)
