Well, what a day for little Ember!
Ember is now nearly 6 months (on Christmas Eve!) and is growing, growing, growing. She's about 32lbs and is just the happiest, sweetest, loveliest puppy I have ever met (yes, I suppose I am biased). She graduated from Puppy II last week and is a master at basic commands of 'sit' and 'down', and is about 95% on coming when called now. She also can 'gimme five' to the delight of everyone who meets her.
So today, Ember went off to doggie daycare like she does every Wednesday. They have a mobile groomer that comes out every couple of weeks and Ember got her first big haircut. I was nervous all day, wondering what she might look like. I had gotten lots of (unsolicited) comments from people that she needed a clip and I caved to the peer pressure. We haven't had any matting problems at all, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to get her exposed to the full groom, and I know that her fur will grow again.
Well, I picked her up and oh my goodness does she look adorable. She looks so much tinier now and just like a little lamb. She feels so soft, like a fleece blanket. I can't get over it. I really do miss her long fur, but I think she looks SO cute and fluffy.

And NOW... she just got her very first antler (thanks Food Group!) and is obsessed. Good day for a good puppy.

She looks beautiful....and so soft.
She looks great!
Ember has a beautiful coat! What a cute little girl!
Good girl, Ember! You are a cutie!
She is beautiful in both pictures and I bet she feels great!!
awe, pretty doodle. She looks perfect in both pictures. :o)
I love the natural shaggy look but the groomer did a great job. Happy Half Birthday Ember.
Just adorable...I love that fresh smell and feel of a just groomed puppy.
Beautiful, velvety girl.
I like her coat both ways too! I love that "lamb" feel it gets when first cut! Don't worry it won't be long before you have your shaggy girl back! Also if you get her coat a little damp after the cut the waves and curls usually return rather quickly!
