A dog in our area died from Cocoa Mulch...... there is NO warning on the bags or the stores

where you buy the mulch but there is a warning on the Cocoa Mulch website (a lot of

good THAT does).

I read about this death at our Kennel where our Doodle, Cady has daycare. So sad.

I know that if I had bought some she surely would have eaten it as Doodles love to chew....

We have posted about Cocoa Mulch here many times in many discussions over the past year, as has every other dog forum, and it is included in our Danger Group. It's really surprising to me and tragic that so many people are still unaware of the fact that chocolate in all forms including mulch is toxic to dogs.

I recently attended a landscape show where one of the exibitors was discussing the selling of cocoa mulch at his business. I filled him in on how toxic this is to dogs. He was unaware of this and being a dog lover himself is rethinking this decision and promised to do more research. Hopefully he will make the right decision. My husband is the manager of a nursery and garden center and they do not sell this product.
