In yappy hour Friday I was talking about a big family reunion I was attending today.  There were 950 direct descendents on the invite list and there were nearly 350 attendees.  I spoke of the cousin's quilt that had been made prior.  The pattern is called the Irish Chain.  Each of the original first cousins came up with an idea of how they wished to be represented and a square of the quilt was made for them.  The other squares were filled with things that represented the family as a whole (shamrocks, farm impliments and the like).  I was asked to post a picture of the quilt, so here it is, along with a close up of my father's "square."  It was raffled off in the end to cover expenses and fittingly one of the original cousins won it.  It was on display today.

Awsome, how fun was this - where was it held, close to you?

We use to do a pig roast/reunion every year for about 10 years and then the property we had it on was sold :o( haven't had one since. Gets me to thinking....maybe we should start up again.
