Thanks Ali.  I do have quite a few cans (I stocked up for when we went away and I guess I thought I was leaving her for a month - lol) that usually would last quite a while, but I worry that deliveries can't be made to the stores IF they open up.....BUT THANKS SO MUCH!  Hopefully we'll be in touch this weekend!  I'll call you!

I have to say, being Irene is supposed to it us early in the morning, I am a little worried on how I am going to get him out to the bathroom. He doesnt usually have to go right away but who knows how long it will last. And of course on top getting a hurricane, we have a tornado warning!

Ro, I have big bags of food if you run out and the stores are closed. Not sure if you have my cell number so sending it to you on your email in case we have no power. Be safe all.

Christine Quinn, speaking for NYC, said they may shut off power preemptively in lower Manhattan. Apparently the underground lines are more likely to corrode if there is power running through them . OMD.

Wow, F. we have some towns that have mandatory evacuation, but many are not leaving (those are the ones not ON the coast but inland a bit). We had Gloria in '85 and were without power for about 1 week.  I can't imagine that with all the technology we have NOW that that will be the case, but just in case.... I'm worried more about getting tori's food, than anything else.  We just got home last night, so we're scrambling now.... Us- well we could go without, but not Tori!

Good luck everyone!  @F Parker- 3 weeks?!?!  Ugh!! We lose power here in Sayreville NJ at the drop of a hat so I can't imagine what's going to happen with a hurricane!  I remember years ago (1999 labor day storm??) we lost power for about a week and it was terrible...at the time I had a small pug who was easy to take out and care for...lol I can't imagine flooding and no power with 2 big doodles!!
