HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! I saw this post on Facebook this morning under the Canal Fulton group and his mom mentions how much he enjoyed all the Christmas Cards :-) Here it is!!!
Hello.
First of all, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope and pray that everyone remembers the real reason of the season and enjoys the time spent together with family and friends. That is what we are doing!
Ryan is doing well! We had a rough day on Saturday, but other than that one day, he is doing really well. We think he must have had a virus that made him sick on Saturday. He is on such a low dose of the steroid that he is acting like his normal, ornery self again. I love it! We get to see his beautiful smile and hear his fantastic laugh each and every day. Those dimples of his are so darn cute! We are so thankful to be able to enjoy these little things.
Andrew had his 11th birthday this week. Boy, how the time flies! He has grown into such a good hearted little man. I am so very proud of him. He is a great big brother and son.
We were able to go on the blimp ride on Monday! The weather cooperated, and Ryan cooperated, so we were able to go. It was really a cool experience and Ryan and Andrew had a blast! The entire Goodyear crew was amazing with us.
Ryan received about 200 cards in the mail. A friend brought them over to the house yesterday, and we spent a couple of hours opening them all and reading them. I had never seen so many cards addressed to the same person before! And, I guess that is only two days worth of mail. I have a feeling there are more cards on the way! We had a great time reading through them all and seeing where they all came from. Ryan received cards from all over the United States, and he received 5 cards from China. The amount of concern being shown for Ryan from people all over, friends and strangers alike, is so humbling. There are no words to express how grateful and humbled I am.
We have just simply been amazed at the outpouring of love and concern for Ryan. It is overwhelming. Someone asked me to say something “profound” about this experience with Ryan, after I told her about the “Pray for Ryan” signs up all over the place, the newspaper articles, the segments on the actual TV news, the emails, the phone calls, the experience with the Cleveland Browns, etc. I told her that if she didn’t see the profoundness in what is going on – she was missing it! This 9 year old little boy has united thousands of people in prayer. Many of those people have never even met him. His story is inspirational. The amount of extraordinary things being done for him, the amount of love being shown to him, the amount of prayers being said for him…. that is profound.
Well, that is all for now. I will update again soon.
Have a very Merry Christmas. And remember, each and every day is a gift….
Until next time…
Love,

How absolutely awesome...and moving. Brought tears to my eyes. As Ryan's mom said, each and every day is a gift! Happy New Year to all!
