Gavin's first hair cut

Just got back from the groomer for Gavin's first hair cut. I did not want her to take him too short, just even him out a bit. She did just as I asked and I was very pleased with the results. She also shaved out all of the poplar pods stuck between his toes! Her price was great too - $42 CND including tax! It took her two hours. I will for sure go back to her. As a bonus, when I went to pick him up, a lady was walking in with a doodle the spitting image of him. Turns out they are 1/2 siblings. They of course took to each other right away.

Very nice! Last time we went to the groomers, I went in with a doodle and came out with a poodle. My poor husband... I think Pepsi even felt humiliated. Now a month later it has grown out a bit and Pepsi looks a lot more doodly again! Whew!

Gavin looks wonderful. I was so sad when I took Duke last month for his first haircut (it seems too funny to say hair cut not clipped his fur). But when it was done , It was so much easier to comb him at 6 months old with it shorter.

What a lovely first haircut -- we are going for Sammy's first tomorrow. He is 6 months old. I am bringing these pictures of Gavin with me! Wonderful photos of a great looking dog. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all of your positive comments. Gee I never thought of the play date opportunity. I gotta tune in a bit more to these things. My husband seems very relieved. I think he was convinced that Gavin would look like a poodle after being groomed. DH keeps saying: "He actually looks good. He really does." Silly husband, if he read doodle kisses (where you are taught what to ask for from your groomer) he would not have been so worried.

Oh..Gavin turned out sooo adorable!! Wilson's 1st. haircut was that price too...but the next one which was last week..was $60 cuz he now weighs 70 lbs. She took 2 1/2 hrs and a little short..but wont have to go back so often : ) Great to see the before and after shots!!
