My son Mark turned 12 last Saturday. Of course he got several presents, we fussed over him all day, and he had some friends over. I admit to ignoring Lilo and Rocky slightly because of his party... just around dusk, the dogs went outside as usual to make their evening rounds around our property. They did stay out for quite a while, but I didn't think much of it. When they finally came in, Lilo walked over to Mark and dropped a dead mole rat on the floor in front of him as if to say: Happy Birthday from ME! Unfortunately, Mark didn't appreciate her present much. But it's the thought that counts, right! As gross as it was, I still thought it was a lovely display of affection.

She should have put a bow on it. That's probably why he didn't appreciate it.

That is so funny!! My son, Mark, turns 12 in November. I think "my" Mark might have thought that was TOOO cool. I would be the one who would not appreciate it.

I think it's very sweet that they wanted to give a PRIZE like this to their big brother.

The dogs improvised as best at they could. What a shame that their creativity wasn't FULLY appreciated. LOL

A very lovely gift indeed. After all the poor dog didn't have any cash on hand, right?
