Harley goes swimming

It started out just like any other night. Harley and I meet up with my friend and her puppy to go for our mile walk. We talk, the dogs play and walk and play some more. The dogs have become best friends now and they look forward to their walk everyday. After we finish walking, we go into my friends backyard so that I can throw away Harley's poop. The dogs start playing some more, but of course I keep Harley on a leash because my girlfriend has this built in pool and I don't know what to expect. Harley walks over to the steps, smells, licks the water and walks away. This is good. The puppys really want to play now, you can see it in their faces, so my friend says let her off the leash, they will be good. They get sooooo excited they start running around the yard and then running around the pool and just go nuts. They were so quick and because they are both black all I can see is flashes of dog running around the pool. Then all of a sudden Harley goes to the side of the pool, stops, and JUMPS in. OMG, she goes under, and my daughter and I dive in the pool, clothes and all and start swimming as fast as we can to the other end to save her. Of course by now she is just swimming her little legs off and doing fine but I can't see that because I am swimming franticly to get her. Our friends dog is just looking at her, never following and wondering what the heck she is doing. Scooped Harley up, got her out of the pool, and she was a little bit surprised and taken back, but none the worse. She did great. And as we all stood there soaking wet, we had to laugh. All I can say is thank goodness I took my cell phone out of my pocket!

Yes, I probably should have waited and she would have been fine, but the over protective mom took over and I acted first and thought afterwards. And now that it's past, I am thinking that I probably should have just let her swim and awhile and enjoy herself.

LOL! That is so funny! I cant believe you jumped in after her! LOL! (dogs float - ya know!) That would have been a fun sceanrio to watch!! Hehehe!
