Rosco and I had a lovely day today :-)
First, we got to meet with
Trasa and her almost 11 week old labradoodle puppy, Nouli. I was a little concerned about how Rosco would play with such a tiny puppy... But he did well. Nouli is a doll and I feel like I'm getting a glimpse of Thule at that age (we got her at 11 months). Nouli might even end up a little bit scruffier then Thule.
Rosco initially ignored Nouli after greeting him. He was more interested in and sniffing out his yard and marking a tree (almost getting little Nouli's nose!). But eventually they started roughhousing. Rosco would knock Nouli down, then Nouli would bounce back and get knocked down, repeated several times over. Then Rosco would decide it was time to explore again and little Nouli pranced right behind his new hero :-)
After our play date, Rosco had a vet date! Now two days earlier I stopped by the vet's office twice (to pick up a specimen sample cup, and then drop off the cup) with Rosco in the car. Each of these times I brought him back a treat. So today, I heard him salivating and smacking his lips the moment we pulled up into the parking lot :-)
The vet tech and vet (who somehow didn't remember him from last year) absolutely loved him. And he hammed it up and was the perfect friendly gentlemen. The vet tech thought he had excellent conformation and found his nose to be the cutest thing! He's lost 5 pounds and is now at the perfect weight (80#)... And he got an A+ on his teeth--virtually no plaque or tarter (whichever one is visible to the naked eye)! I was surprised by this because I rarely brush his teeth so it must be his sterilized real bones that he chews so often. Whatever reason, I was so proud of my sweet pie Rosco!
