Dubs was a lover. He loved laying with ne. There will never be a kinder soul in this world. After the terrible life he lived before coming to live with us he adapted so easily to our home. My husband's desperate plea for justice for our Dublin...

KDKA Team,

I could desperately use your help. At roughly 9:00PM tonight (February 13th, 2010), I was walking my dog Dublin near my home. My wife and I just rescued Dublin from an abusive situation last week. He was a 5-year-old Labradoodle with a golden heart despite spending the past 5 years being abused by his previous owners. During our evening walk, I saw a black SUV (I believe a Cadillac) excessively speeding behind me. I pulled Dublin into a snow bank and off the road until the SUV passed. At the last moment, the vehicle swerved towards us and hit both Dublin and myself. Dublin was killed instantly and the vehicle’s front right tire ran over my ankle and lower leg. I could not see the license plate because the vehicle immediately sped away even faster than it approached.

I asked another passing vehicle to chase and try to get the license plate number of the hit and run driver, but she was unable to catch up. The police arrived immediately, but told me there was nothing they could do without a license plate number. This incident occurred in Crafton, PA, on the corner of Broadhead and Parke streets. I had a flashlight on, so the driver must have seen me. Also, the roads are still in bad shape due to the recent snow storms and there is very little through traffic. I am convinced that the vehicle is owned by someone who lives nearby or a friend of someone who does. Without the cooperation of Crafton police, I do not believe there is any chance for justice. I believe the driver should be held accountable for his actions, especially since he blatantly fled the scene.

PLEASE HELP!!!! Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Perhaps a plea to the public would be helpful in bringing the perpetrator to justice. My contact information is below. Please contact me at any time as I am very anxious to bring the driver to justice. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Joe, kyoko, joanne, and laurie,
Thank-you all for your loving words. I really appreciate them. Well the cops told my husband that they can't do Mich since he couldn't get the plate number. He did try however he got hit too. I am so sad and angry now. I an in shock to be frank. Mickey was hit but was trying to nudge Dublin and was sitting with him. I just am kinda shock at all of this and I'm praying Its just been a horrible dream.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I hope your husband is OK, and I'm so sorry for your loss of Dublin. At least he got to know how good life could really be before he had to leave you. Bless you for giving him a chance. Give Mickey an extra hug tonight.

I'm so sorry Marissa. Where in Pgh. are you? Are the police going to be able to do anything? I have family there who can keep an eye out if needed.

Oh My God, Marissa... I am so sorry to hear about this terrible news....I know you and your family had such a hope for Dublin. One thing that I can say is that, regardless to the terrible life he had before, he got to spend the rest of his life with wonderful and caring person like you....and was able to go to heaven knowing that he was loved and cared for....I am so sorry that you are going through this difficulty... And I hope your husband recovers quickly.
