Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I hope everyone is doing well these days. I try to pop in when I can - life is busy! But good!
I wanted to give you an update on Peri and Taquito and our human child, Charlotte.
Peri is the best doodle on earth. She is still a feisty girl - my neighbor asked me if she was 1 years old recently and when I replied with "5" she about fainted and said "wow she has a lot of energy"! She continues to be the best big sis to Charlotte and cares so deeply for Taquito, I do worry what will happen when he is gone.
Taquito is hanging in there - we are becoming experts at administering the sub-q treatments now. We did one on Saturday in about 10 minutes - Taquito sat (yes, he SAT) on a towel on the bath countertops while I held the needle in. He smiled at us. Peri sat by my feet the entire time and as soon as we put Tacky down, she licked him all over. So for anyone that might ever make the idiotic claim that animals do not have feelings, I beg to differ. The two of them are like peas in a pod and Peri never leaves our side during T's treatments.
I am planning to take Tacky to the vet in July for a mini blood workup to see if we might be keeping his kidneys at bay. Last time we were there, his weight was steady, which is AWESOME for kidney disease patients.
Charlotte is 20 months old and is the light of our life (with the dogs). She is excellent with them and helps tell them to sit, gives them treats, etc... She absolutely gets the whole gentle concept and knows to ask before petting all dogs (because they might not be so friendly as ours). She is SO GENTLE with our two that it is amazing - Tacky lets her pet him! I was reading to C last night, Tacky jumped on my lap and sat right next to us while we read. She pet his head gently and Peri laid across my feet. Pure joy.
Here are a few pics of the crew. Enjoy! And hope you are all doing well!

Can't believe that C is almost 2. Thanks for the update.
Charlotte is looking gorgeous as are you! Good to hear all is well with the pack.
She is precious.. For sure dogs feel…. They feel so deeply it makes me so sad to think that anyone wouldn't understand that…. My Jack is so loyal to me.. every treatment I do, no matter how many times a day… He stops what he is doing and is on my lap or at my feet…. Dogs are the best thing ever.
Your daughter is so beautiful… I love the outfit she is wearing!!! Guacamole! Yum….
Hoping Tacky has a great mini check up!
OMD, Charlotte you are growing so fast. And of course getting cuter by the day. I have not been on for a while so these pics are a real treat to see.
Allyson, I had no idea Tacky was fighting kidney disease, I hope he is doing well and able to continue enjoying life with all of you. Peri, well nobody would expect less from her, she is a big sweetheart.
Have a wonderful summer.
Charlotte is livin' large--how can I score one of those wagons full of snacks?!?
Beautiful family! I am so glad to hear how well Tacky is doing!
What a sweet update. Charlotte is adorable and fingers crossed for Tacky (and Peri, his BFF).
What a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing your story. Love the relationship between all of them. So very sweet. Hoping Tacky continues to do well with his treatments and all the love poured out for him.
Beautiful family - hope Tacky continues to do well!
