Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
First of all, Jeff and I are not major music connoisseurs... I listen to what is "hot" on the radio, and Jeff, quite frankly, I don't know what he likes. We're easy. For Milton's first birthday party, I knew we just had to have the "right" music - a doggie playlist. I scoured the Internet to find the best tunes that would just scream doggie bash. Here is what I came up with:
1. B-I-N-G-O - The Sing-Along Kids
2. Snoop D. O. Double G - Snoop Dogg (I was so disappointed to learn that he changed his name to Snoop Lion just before our party...)
3. Cruella De Vil - Dr. John (101 Dalmations!)
4. Me and You and a Dog Named Boo - Lobo
5. Who Let the Dogs Out? - Baha Men (a popular one from the '90s!)
6. How Much is that Doggie in the Window? - Lita Rosa (We used to sing that one in school...)
7. Puppy Love - Paul Anka
8. Gonna Buy Me a Dog - The Monkees
9. The Puppy Song - Nilsson
10. He's a Tramp - Peggy Lee (from the adorable Lady and the Tramp!)
11. Hound Dog - Elvis Presley (We all know this one!)
12. Little Bow Wow - I forgot to grab any of his songs, but he is another excellent pick!
Yes, that is what we jammed out to played via my pink mini iPod and Jeff's clock radio... To steal the words of the rapper, Drake - "Oh, you fancy, huh?" Play this at your party, and it is sure to be a success!
Here are two of our party guests: Jaclyn and Jake. I just had to include this photo in this post.

Hops, Milton's bestest bud! |
The little lady on the right is Lisa Lionheart. She is so named due to an adorable heart-shaped marking on her side. After a few months of Milton attending daycare, we were informed that lovely Lisa is the Milt's girlfriend; they play all the time together! Me, being the meddlesome Momma that I am, took it into my own hands to get the two of them together. I dropped an invite off at daycare, and Lisa's daddy, David, emailed me saying that he, his wife, and Lisa would love to help us celebrate...! I thought they would be a bit weirded out, but they took it all in good fun. Milt had a blast with his girl dog, and I think we made some new friends. Lisa's one-year-old birthday was actually yesterday, so it was almost like a joint party!

If you didn't notice, I bought doggie fabric from Jo-Ann Fabrics and cut all of the pooches fun bandannas to wear for the party. All of the boys and girls looked super sharp, and it made everything just a little more festive! The majority of these doggie pics were taken by one of the party guests, Lauren. It was awfully difficult to snap any good shots in between answering the door, preparing food, and introducing guests. Thank goodness for friends with phones!
Wednesday I will post on party decor. Have a marvelous day, everyone!

Great pictures of Milt's doggie guests... so cute :)
Love it! You did an awesome job!
Very cool. I would have been worried that the parents of Milt's BFF would be weirded out as well. What good sports!
Heidi, It looks to me like you throw one heck of an amazing party! No wonder everyone had fun. Too cute!
Loved the list of party songs, and every guest looked like they were rocking their tails off, at your woofing party !
Great post :)
hahhaa I just imagined a bunch of dogs loose and going crazy running around when i saw "who let the dogs out" on your playlist! Then I saw "how much is that doggy in the window" and all the dogs turned tame and were having a calm and proper party LOL
Love this Heidi! The list of dog songs is just perfect for the party! The pictures of Milts fur buddies are so cute and your scarves and party hats definitely added to the festivities. Milt looks very "Birthday" in his picture and the perfect host of the party! What a great day, can't wait to see more pictures:) That little Leo is certainly a cutie pie!
