I am looking to get an F1 Goldendoodle pup. I have put down a deposit on one that should be coming home in late June, however with all of the information I'm reading I realize that he does not have the 2 yr health warranty or any of the other health certificates from his parents. I would much rather lose my deposit and get a healthy pup. Does anyone know of a good breeder where I can get a pup with a good health background? Please help if you can..Thank you..

Take your time and do research. I found a great breeder and angel. It took alot of patience and time but it was worth the wait. If you ask for a health warranty and they will not give you one from a recommend vet you should get your deposit back. The health factor is the first responsibility of reputable breeder. denise

I second the Premium Breeder list Allyson mentioned below. Here is the direct link: http://www.goldendoodle-labradoodle.org/Goldendoodle_Labradoodle_Pr...

Also try goldendoodles.com as they have a list of breeders and the list tells you what health testing they do.

One note about both of the above...even though they are on a 'list' it doesn't make every single breeder on there 'ideal' -- there are some on both lists I would not buy from, but it's a place to start and do ask for LOTS of references from those who have been to the property, etc.

Finally also check out our Owner Recommend Breeders group and look in our Goldendoodle Puppies for Sale group to see who has an ad placed. Enjoy!

Yes look at the Owner Recommended breeders. My puppy is only 5 1/2 weeks old and isn't at home, but I know my breeder is great. She was on the Owner site and on the Premium Breeder's List (http://www.goldendoodle-labradoodle.org/) which requires a minimum health guarantee and testing. By the way, a good breeder will never require you to give your puppy back if he/she develops hip displasia, etc...a good breeder would refund some of your purchase price to help pay the bills, etc.. Check out my page for my breeder's info.

I would start by looking at the "Owner Recommended Breeders" group, and looking at what health certifications they do on the parents. This information is almost always available on the breeders websites.
The two year health guarantee is not as important, IMO, because who is going to give up the dog after falling in love with him? It is good to know the breeder stands behind the health of their puppies, though.
I truly appreciate the fact that the health of your puppy is more important to you than your deposit. Good for you.
