Well, Ms. Foxy Lady seems (seemed) to be progressing nicely up until about an hour ago. I'll have to wait and see tomorrow. After the second surgery which was last Friday, she no longer was favoring the paw and on Saturday while we were working in the yard she was her old self. Wanting us to throw her tennis ball and she would run and get it. Over and over...all day long! Forget the 7-10 days of no jumping or running. It was not going to happen with this Doodle. We have been soaking her paw twice a day in Epsom salts through Sunday. The paw was healing up nicely and it was dry and no moist areas. We haven't used the cone since Saturday and every thing has been fine. I took her for a walk today and checked out her paw. Within one hour after looking at it she started licking it like crazy and now it is bleeding. We just soaked it and she is back in the cone!!! I have applied pressure and pushed on the paw and she doesn't seem to mind so it is not painful at all. We are now thinking one of two things. The shaved hair is growing out and it is very itchy and that is why she is licking and she just licked it raw or there is another (3rd) fox tail and it has turned back around and headed back out. You can see the pin prick hole where the fox tail had entered and where they did the probing. This is where the blood is coming from so our guess is there is another fox tail. Ideally, it would be nice if it presents itself and we can pull it out. I have put her sock back on and her cone. If it heals up and drys out without her licking it then it is not a fox tail. Time will tell! Can you believe that she has the largest cone they make and she still finds a way to lick her paw!!!!!

I hope those foxtails get tired of you pretty soon, Gracie Doodle. I know you're tired of them.

Oh no, Gracie Doodle...not the CONE. Murph and I hate the cone. It sounds like your Mom and Dad are taking very good care of you. We hope you're paw gets better really soon and you can get rid of that cone. Love ya, Guinness.

oh poor Gracie and poor you! I hope that darn foxtail comes out, we will keep that in our wishes. Bandit has also had bad paws this week, but seems to be doing better.

Oh, poor Gracie Doodle! Jackdoodle has sore paws from his allergies right now, and he certainly sympathizes! We're sending big hugs and hope her paw feels better soon!

Oh how sweet of you to check in on my poor Gracie Doodle. Right now she has a doggie boot on and is not a happy girl. I took her to the vet last Friday and the hole had closed over and she wasn't swollen, inflamed, in pain or anything. He still thinks there might be something in there. She had a little bump and he sort of wanted to open it up to see if he could probe it but since it was closed he said we should just wait and see and if it opens then to call him. Well, it opened back up yesterday. Nothing draining but she constantly licks it. She has been constantly licking for a few weeks and now I am afraid her hair won't grow back. It is so dark and bald looking :( I just gave her a bath and got the paw all dried out. I then put the boot on and I am going to put the cone collar back on (even though she manages to lick around it). My husband thinks I am worrying too much but the vet has told me many times that the paw, once all the fox tails are out, would heal up over night! It has not! I can't call the vet and take her today because my air conditioner went out and they are here servicing it so I can't leave. Also, my particular vet is not there every day and is very hard to book. I think I will call and see if he is working tomorrow (they are open half day) or try for the first of the week. This is really getting old and has been going on for almost one month!!! I keep waiting until this is all behind us to give a final report but so far....

Thanks Webber...you are lucky you got out of California before the fox tails got really bad! This has been a real bummer for me and now my mother is paranoid about letting me to anywhere that isn't cement! They are still keeping a close watch on my paw just in case there is a third fox tail. My 7 days of "house arrest" is over and boy, today I had a lot of fun but got in trouble...go check out the new "Bad Doodles" group!

Oh Graciedoodle! I hate this is happening to your paw. Please get well soon and stay out of those foxtails for the rest of the summer.
