I'm feeling like a "blog hog", so please forgive me. Today was a traumatic day for Murph (and me too). I could no longer handle the mats from the "coat change", and he could no longer handle me trying to remove them. We were both on our last nerve, and there was no way I could keep up with them. So his gorgeous coat is now in the trash at Petco. I knew this would be difficult for him, so I made poor Guinness go with him....poor guy didn't even need a grooming. The groomer was really sweet, and took it slow giving him lots of breaks when he got really upset. It took four hours, and he and Guinness were her only customers. When I brought him home, DH and I couldn't stop laughing...every time we looked at him we got hysterical. I think he knew it, and he wasn't happy with us. He looks like a "gangly teenage boy"...all he needs to complete the look is a little acne and a Taylor Swift crush. Apparently Guinness thought he was looking pretty handsome, because from the time they got home he has not stopped "humping" Murph. He's figured out that if he "lures" Murph upstairs with the tennis ball, they will get to have their "humping fest" without me putting a stop to it. I'm onto them now though. Here are some of the sad pictures of poor Murph....although I will always think he's a VERY HANDSOME DOOD.

Glad you're feeling better Jane! It's always worse on us.... the rain has just started here! Just ran out to try and get tori to go potty again before the down pour. I'm sure your "local news guy" will keep you all well informed - lol
I don't think it's supposed to be bad HERE until at least 3 - 5 o'clock... you'll probably get "Earl" or what's left of him, after that! good luck!

Murphy looks great. I love his face.

Murphy looks great. The first time is traumatic,, for us mostly and just a little for the dog. As much as Spud resists grooming and as bad as he mats I am resigned the to fact that he may always be short :( That's okay. Starlit has great hair ( knock on wood --so far).
Murphy enjoy --I know it feels so good!

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments. I do feel much better about it today. No more mats for us to worry about....yay! The "humping" has subsided too. Now to get ready for the hurricane.

Awe... he looks good! I think they did a great job! And believe ME poor Tori's had her share of bad cuts. His feet are still fluffy - sometimes they cut the paws down too low... I know - truly I do - how you like his long hair, but this will keep the mats down until his full coat comes in and you can manage it better too. He may even tolerate the brushing better! Murph's new 'look' may be turning Guinness on! (Kinda' like a new wig - LOL)

Oh Jane, I LOVE Murphy's cut! He looks adorable and he matches Guinness now! He looks so much more comfortable. His cut is the one I always do to Gracie Doodle when it gets too hot. She is the happiest with her hair that length rather than longer. You need to tell him how handsome he is. These Doodles sense our feelings and he might be very upset that you are laughing at him!!!! Just wait until Gracie sees this picture!!

Murph looks AMAZING. I love the long & the short coats. I was so nervous when Rosey had her first haircut, she was 8 months old and shaggy fluffy ball of fur. But when she came home after that first cut she looked like a SuperModel, slim and trim, showing off the "good parts" , no one even recognized her! Now when Bandit got his first shave down he looked like a dog crossed with a rabbitt, that was truely sad..
