Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My six year old Goldendoodle has just been diagnosed with Lymphoma. We are going to administer a series of Chemotherapy injections which hopefully will extend hwe life. Like most of you with a Doodle thay become a huge part of your life and this news is very upsetting. I am wondering if anybody has had a Doodle with this disease and how he/she has responded to this form of treatment.

Thank you for any insight that you might have.

I have no experience, but I believe there are members here who have been through this, and I am sure they will offer you insight.  All of us will be wishing you well.

We have a Golden Retriever who was diagnosed with lymphoma just before he was 8 years old. We did the chemotherapy and he is now almost 10 years old so it definitely prolonged his life significantly. He is starting to decline now but he is also older than your dog and has had other health issues on top of the lymphoma. We felt he managed the chemo quite well and other than a little bit of nausea after a couple of the bigger doses he always bounced back quickly. Your dog is younger than ours was so I hope you will at least get as good of a result as we did for our Golden. We have never doubted our decision to treat him and to do everything we could to extend his life and his time with us.

Some of the success will likely depend on how early the diagnosis has come. We were lucky and caught our dog's cancer at an early stage so I do think that helped a lot.

Wishing you the very best!!

This is so heartbreaking. I hope the treatment options help out.  I noticed that there is a Medical and Health Group.  Maybe someone there has some advice.

Sorry to hear this, Bill. We have had a few members here whose Goldendoodles have been diagnosed with lymphoma, hopefully they will share their experiences with you. I hope the chemo helps get your dog into a long remission.

I am so sorry to hear this.  I don't have any experience with canine lymphoma but wish you and your doodle all of the best!
