My Mom decided to buy me a Halloween Costume last year (she said she got a REALLY good deal on it when my Dad asked) after Halloween. She brought it out from the closet the other day and put it on me. I didn't move a muscle. I wouldn't even look at her, I was so mad at that lady. She even brought out a piece of my very favorite thing in the whole world (a piece of Chicken from the refrigerator!!!) and I didn't even move. Nothing was going to make me move in that hideous looking thing. I think I hurt her feelings because she wanted me to be happy - but I just couldn't. She was sad because my tail wasn't happy like it always is. I put that thing right between my legs, I'm telling you I wasn't happy at all. She wanted me to go to some Howl o Ween parade, but I think she realizes now that I will NOT be doing that this year.

Allie, just do what I do, don't stay still long enough for her to put anything on you. It works for me. Achilles

She's probably nervous because she's wondering where you're going to put the candle. All jack-o-lanterns need a candle, right?

Allie, I think other dogs should be dressing up to look like US for Halloween!!! You can't get any better than lookin' like a Doodle!! Hee hee!! Your Friend, Tara

P.S. Don't feel humiliated. Even with that silly thing on you still ROCK!!! Hugs, Tara

Allie, Murphy here.
I don't really like getting dressed up but mom just does it for football games...and she says something about "not messing up the mojo" whatever that is. The really great part is that it means we are going somewhere. And that is always fun. People tell you how cool you look and play frisbee with you. Parades are even better.....of course we throw stuff down here. I like the bandanas best of all.
My human brother hates to get dressed up too...especially the thing they call a tie. It just looks like a leash to me, and a leash means you are going somewhere cool. Guess he doesn't get it.

Allie would LOVE to join the Naked Doodle Freedom group. I will never put another piece of clothing on her again - I promise!

Allie thanks you all for the very nice and supportive comments!!! She will definitely NOT be walking in the Howl O Ween parade this year!!!

I am thinking of forming a Naked Doodle Freedom group. After all, doodles already have lovely fur coats as part of the "package". Why would they want to cover it up and be covered in oftentimes uncomfortable clothes. Perhaps Allie would like to join?

Awww Allie. You are adorable, but I can see that you are one very unhappy Doodle girl. Guinness and Murph have convinced me that there will be no costumes for them this year either. They HATE getting dressed up, and I've decided not to torture them.

Allie, you really do look super cute, I promise!! My Dad didn't even want be to have a sweater for winter, but Mom got me one, and I think I look pretty spiffy. I would keep it on.. sounds like you could get a pile of treats out of this!!!

You look cute, but I don't like costumes either, Allie. Mom said she is only going to put a bandana on us this year, thank goodness.
