Peri has already passed two levels of obedience with her trainer; however, she has not taken a class since September 2009.  I have been pretty diligent about her training, but she is by no means 100% reliable when she is distracted.  To help us get back into training mode, I decided to sign us up for the next level, which is "Better Family Manners" aka "Advanced Obedience".  That is the next level our trainer offers.

Here's the catch.....the Canine Good Citizen test is administered at the end.  Oh lordy, I am so nervous. I was one of those A+ students, always seeking approval from my teachers, etc... This is how I am when I take Peri to these classes.  I am going to work my darndest with her during my free time; however, I don't want us to fail!  I know it can sometimes takes multiple times to pass, but still!!!

This is how proud I was when she passed her last obedience class. Can it happen again???? Classes start February 10 and continue for 8 weeks. Yikes. Please talk me down from the ledge.

Not to worry.  I have all the confidence in you and Lady P will come away with her CGC.

It is only loose leash walking and not heeling Allyson.  Buddy was tough with this one, we did lot's of turns and I used a self correcting collar wich worked wonders on him.

She is super great with staying for a while and recall is strong suit (thank God).  The leash will be interesting. We use a gentle leader now!  Must stop once we start working on this :)

First off I have to tell you that you are drop dead beautiful!  Oh and Peri too - lol.  You guys are just too cute.  Any hoo - I have absolute confidence that you are just going to rock this.  Do not stress - you don't have to prove anything to anybody.  Go, have fun!

I really think that Peri will definintely breeze on through this at the end of your training!

My prediction is that Lady Peri will not only pass...she's going to be a STAR!  I think you're approaching this the right way...taking the class with the evaluation at the end.  That's what I did with Guinness.  The class actually trained us "to the test".  The structure of the class was all about getting the dog ready.  I think you're going to be really proud of Lady Peri...you'll do just great.  Please keep us updated.
