Here is an article from People Pets I received today - ADT has a new monitoring system for pets! Here is the info.....
We often think of security systems as a way to keep intruders out. But a new invention, the ADT Pulse, lets pet owners sneak a peek at their dogs and cats while they're away.
The company teamed with the American Kennel Club on this new creation, surveying pet owners about their safety concerns. The result was a system that's accessible by iPhone, computer and Blu-Ray, offering users a portal where they can view surveillance video (you pick your camera set-up spots) — and even change the temperature of the house or turn lights on and off remotely.
The Pulse would've proved valuable for one family, pet parents to pooch Lucy (pictured). The chocolate-loving dog was reaching up to get a piece of cake (bad girl!) when her paw accidentally touched a stove knob, igniting a gas burner underneath the foil cake pan. The plastic lid melted and started to smoke heavily, which then triggered the home's ADT system. Luckily, rescuers were called to the house, and Lucy was saved.
With the video component of ADT Pulse, nervous pet owners can see this kind of action as it happens — and keep an eye on misbehaving dogs and cats, pet sitters and other people in the home (it's great for parents, too!). Installation starts at around $400, with fees averaging between $40 and $50 a month. It's peace of mind for those who travel or work a lot: you'll know your beloved pets are extra-safe.
