Phoebe has decided to be a night owl--a barking, whining one, that is. Last night, she barked for an hour and forty-five minutes straight. Despite the lack of sleep, I could not adore her anymore than I do. My youngest has bonded with her in the most amazing way and she seems to have a wonderfully balanced temperament--loves to play but she is soothed quite easily. In time, I am hoping that sleeping through the night will become the norm. She is still so young--just 8 weeks. I also hope that she realizes how much her Mom would love for her not to poop on her inlaid hardwood floors!!! She has added such happiness to our home in a mere day and a half--she was so worth the wait.

I hear you....so I decided to try the hi-tech approach....okay...don't laugh....I downloaded a heartbeat sound off the internet...put it on my IPod (set the IPod to repeat) and attached mini speakers to the IPod.....put the speakers in some soft socks (this also covered the wires) and put the volume REAL LOW....and put this in the crate.....Beemer slept like a baby....goes to bed at 10:30pm....wakes up at 4:00am......I know they have things you can buy that do this but in today's economy I had to be resourceful....(bought the IPod in better economic times!)......aren't they fun?

I think I could have written the same blog! (Minus the kids, I'm doing this on my own!) I feel like a single mom trying to balance the puppy with work and social life. I think she's eaten more than I have recently! haha...but congratulations! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

It is just like having a newborn--minus the nipping, that is. It is a wonderful, fabulous time that I wish I could be well-rested to experience. All in due time.

It's just like starting over again with a newborn human baby!! That's why when my DH told me no more babies I wanted a puppy! I'm so happy for you and your family! I wish it were me again. The housebreaking will come with time. Like you said, she's only 8 weeks old. Hang in there ~ Brenda
