Many of you may have noticed that Karen the Queen of the Food Group has been MIA. She's been here in CT visiting her best friend (me) and her "boys"...G & M. It took great courage for her to get on that plane after not flying for 16 years but with a "little help from her friends" she did it! We had such a fun weekend, and we were so busy that I never thought about taking out the camera. We did think of it yesterday morning, but at that point G & M had gone off to Daycare because we were heading the the airport. So I did manage to get Tim to pose, but unfortunately that's our only picture.
We had gone to our little local pub for dinner Friday night and when we got home we were ready for Yappy Hour, but nobody was on. We were "bumming" but did some yapping of our own. Saturday we showed Karen around, took her to our Training Facility/Dog Food Store (where she gave a little consultation to the owner who was having problems with a rescue puppy itching), and I made her the PIE that she's been waiting for. Sunday we went to the beach for the day, and Monday she headed back.
It was so awesome to finally meet. Karen is even "cooler" in person.

JD is just now getting back to normal, lol. My DD said that the first day or so after I left, he was looking for me and was convinced that every car that drove down the street was bringing me home. But by Sunday, she said it appeared he had given up hope and had attached himself to her so strongly that he even stayed at her side while she vacuumed!
I got a BIG welcome home. He galloped around me for about 10 minutes before settling down, which is unusual for Mr. Undemonstrative, lol.
His stress has showed itself via his digestive system. I got home Monday evening and he had his first normal BM yesterday!
Just catching up here with everything that's been happening at home and the fact that my bank account was skimmed by some fraudsters and I had a strep throat so was out of the look for a while. Anyway I'm so delighted a) that Karen flew, even if it was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and b) that you had such a wonderful time together.
I'd love to know what kind of welcome you got from Jackdoodle on your return? ;)
I'm so happy that you finally got to meet! I hope Karen wasn't traumatized by the flights. Oh, and a yappy hour in person is even better than a virtual one!
Glad you had such a great visit!!
I am so glad you all had what sounds like a great time. Meeting each other must have been a thrill. Karen may just start flitting around the country giving consultations. Great photo.
p.s. I just love the photo of Tim and his beautiful new found friend!
How wonderful that you two finally got to spend Face Time together! It sounds like a perfect visit! Karen, HOORAY to you for getting on the plane!!!! We have to fly to Chicago in mid-January for DH's daughter wedding.....I've been shaking in my boots for months already! (Who in the world plans a wedding in January in CHICAGO???!!!)
Sheri, I should have just popped in....I bet if I had cookies, they would have let me inside :) Plus, I would have taken pictures.
What a great story. Good for Karen getting on that plane. Your won't need photos to remember your time together!
