Yesterday afternoon those worrisome weather reports started breaking through my “regularly scheduled program” to inform us about a “Winter Storm Watch” headed straight for my backyard!

By dinner time, more reports came in, bellowing specific words from the television like: “accumulation – heavy at times – throughout the night.” If the goal among networks was to cause DM (doodle momma) to panic – they succeeded.

Last winter was very mild and dry, a dusting or two at the most. I loved it!  After listening to yesterday’s weather reports all day long, I couldn’t help but remember (quite vividly) waking up to a morning like this one a few years ago…

I agonized that morning knowing we had doodles to walk…

That afternoon we dug tunnels for them to maneuver through the backyard…

And then I battled with the clinging “snow -balls” stuck to their face and legs…

I don’t have much faith in their snowsuits this year…

Not because they don’t work, but because this year they have so much more hair…

HOWEVER… should I wake up to this tomorrow…

We will bundle up, go out and play for hours, get soaked, then dry off (somehow) and after some lunch (that would be for me!), we’ll snuggle up for a long afternoon nap…

And do it all over again before dinner! – HA! Gotta love being a pet parent! Log on next week to check on us, and find out just how much “really” did fall. We’re ready for whatever comes (that’s what I keep telling myself!).

Much “doodle love” and respect for those who live in locations with snowy winters!
Thanks for reading…

I am in awe of those of you who have to do the 'snow stuff' multiple times a day with your dogs.  What a pain!  However I envy your ability to watch your doods have sooooo much fun.

Good luck. So far we have had only a few inches at a time here in northern NJ.

We're looking at the same thing Cathy over here in Charles County. Calling for several inches here. I actually like it when we have snow. Gus and Lilly tend to stay cleaner when they're outside.

Enjoy your snow Cathy :) I can assure you the Harley and Leo will enjoy every snowball that sticks to their fur !

Get out the towels and a hairdryer, have fun, and good luck !

Hugs from the upper New York snow country ♥
