Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

New Year's Day it rained and rained and rained.  Thus far, Milt has not taken too much of an interest in our backyard, but when he discovered how muddy our yard can get, his interest was definitely piqued.  He was digging deep down in the muck and racing circles around himself for no particular reason at all.  This does not make for an easy cleanup, as you can see.

Milt plays hard.

The bath water reminded me of the Augustus Gloop and the chocolate river scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  Disappointingly our water is simply dirty dirt and not luscious chocolate.  We thought about rinsing the Milt off with a hose outside, but we deemed the water temperature just too cold for him.  If his grime starts clogging our bathtub though, he will just need to tough it out!

Our guy is chocolate, so it is always a surprise to see how dirty the water is when we bath him.  We have mud out there today so after pup class, I think he is headed for a shower.  Enjoy your nice clean and handsome doodle!

Milton is Owen's clone... dirty is his middle name. Actually one of his nicknames is Pigdog.

LOL, I've see this before as well. Not fun. We are using our guest bathroom as a doodle shower and I'm worried about clogging the drain one day as well.

Willow and J, I would LOVE to see your dog shower setup. We have an unfinished basement and I was thinking about putting in a doodle shower down there.

heehee. Sounds like our story. Willow LOVES her yard. She goes to walks, she goes to dog parks, but she has to play in HER yard at least once a day. Sadly, her zooming in the small back yard destroyed the landscaping, and it's gotten muddier as a result.

We have a doggy bath tub in our basement, which has been one of the best investment. The "booster tub" comes with a shower head that's much more convenient than the human shower heads, and the height definitely saves our back. Plus, no grime issues for our/human bathtubs.

Milt is so cute, as always!
