Sophee is doing good!

Just to let everyone know...Sophee is doing good! She is adjusting well and really starting to love it here. Shes starting to play with her sister now and feeling much more at home n knows she has all the love she can get here! We will be going on a little ride this weekend <an hour n a half> so she can meet her g'pa! We love her to death! Added a few new pics of her ( ;

Happy Friday to all ( ;  I have a few questions...not sure if anyone watched dog hero awards last night on hallmark channel but they gave a website where they get the dogs cloths and i was going to backwind after it ended to get the address and i left the room came back and my hubby had turned the channel...grrr lol Did anyone happen to get that? Sophee is a big girl at 100 pounds, her previous mommy said she gained like 20 pounds when she started her meds for her seizures, so we are working with her trying to get a few pounds off. But i want to get her some outfits and cant ever find what i am looking for at the stores and they are not big enough! Those dogs last night on that show had the cutest outfits on!

Another question...i don't like Sophees hair cut real short but her ears are starting to matt , we are trying to brush through it but its not easy n i dont want to hurt her. Do you think if i gave her a bath and maybe used cream rinse in her it would help to get the matting out? Someone posted a good cream rinse to use was silk & silk? or buttercomb? I can't re,member who posted it but i looked for both at petco and didnt see either one. Does anyone know where i can get these or does anyone know of a different kind thats good?

So sorry, Gayle. I responded to your post in the Seizure Group, hopefully some of the other members who are experienced with this will have some tips on giving meds when the dog isn't eating. Hugs to you and Sophee.

So sorry to hear about Sophee having a seizure last night.  I have no knowledge on these issues.  I suppose perhaps you could call your vet for advice.  Take care.

Last night was so hard....yesterday afternoon Sophee started acting like she didn't feel good, she didn't want to eat or anything, i knew something was wrong. My lab had been sick the day before so i thought maybe it was like the doggie flu or something. I tried to hand feed her even and nothing...well thepotassium  bromide she takes says only give with food and from what i understood it was very important to make sure she had the  Phenobarbital, well i manged to get that down at 5;30 and about 9 that night she threw up, i did not manage to get the bromide dwn and was praying one dose her missing would be ok <tears> it wasn't...she had a seizure last night...i feel so bad, it killed me to watch her like that. I sat in the floor holding her, telling her it was going to be ok and bawling my eyes out...this is so hard to take...) ;

Thank you all for the best wishes ( ; She is doing great and I think we are all very happy! Well Sophee n our lab get along better everyday except our lab is a little jealous I think, but we are doing everything we can to prevent that...we love them both so much! I have to tell you, we have never had a dog quit this big...well...both the puppies have the run of the house, i never lock them up and there has never been any problems lol. Yesterday we ran to the gas station was gone all of 10 minutes and come home and Sophee has got 2 pork chops off the top of the oven n ate them! lol I said to my hubby "did you put the other 2 pork chops away?" he said "no"..i thought he was joking around but nope...she got them lol Would love to set up a video camera for when we are gone! lol
