When I tell you Saturday was hot – I mean it was hot! I’m talking “Africa” hot – Tarzan would have limited his “vine” swinging by mid afternoon – for sure!
Several weeks ago I promised some anipals, who were hosting and sponsoring Springfield Days, that The Boys would come out for the Pet Fest activities. Due to the high temperature, DH and I had a mini summit meeting before leaving and decided to bring lots of water, remain in the shade, and not stay more than 90 minutes.
We gathered up the travel tote, and off we went.
I’ve been dreading this reality, and haven’t mentioned it to DH yet – but here are two reasons why I think we need a larger car.
Reason #1: When Leo places his two front paws on the arm rest, the passenger can’t see the driver…
Reason #2: When Leo decides he wants to sit up in the back and look out the rear window, we experience an eclipse…
Dare you ask? Of course “Wilson” was with us!…
Lee found the pawfect shaded area…
And trust me – we weren’t the only ones seeking refuge from the sun…
Pet parents talked, while Leo watched a furrend roll around…
Harley’s feelings were crushed when he “struck out” on first base with a 14 month old Schnoodle…
So he settled for some DLC (doodle loving care) from the Schnoodle’s human family member…
But it was love at first sight for Harley and Peggy from Canada. She is now a doodle fan!…
Still wounded from the Schnoodles rejection earlier, Harley played hard to get when “Tofu”sashayed over…
His plan worked pawfectly! Mr. Harley redeemed himself. The boy got “swagger” – Tofu couldn’t get enough of him. He was so happy!…
Dr. “Allison” from Colonial Animal Hospital stopped by and placed some goodies in our bag. Harley got busted (and twisted in the handle) trying to get to it…
What a ham…
Puparatzi Parties were all set up for photo – ops complete with “props.” Now there are a lot of things I would call Harley, but an “angel” ain’t one of them. However, Jennifer insisted on the halo, so…
When our 90 minutes were up, we were just about out of water, and it was time to go. Katy and Dixie from Olde Towne Pet Resort gave The Boys head pats and kisses, as we made our way back to the car…
Harley told his pupmates “so long”…
And this is pretty much how the rest of our Saturday was spent…
Thanks for reading, have a doodlerific day…

Beautiful dogs! How on earth do you keep them so clean and fluffy? Gracie's fur was a nightmare by the end of winter - and she's brown with wavy flannel fur.
Love the pictures Cathy and they certainly show what a great day it was even with the heat:( I totally understand the 90 minute thing living here in Fresno! I think your boys definitely are taking up a lot of room in the car! LOL Great blog and thanks for sharing your day!
