Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Today I brought home my first short-term foster baby for DRC. His name is Baxter and he is 16 weeks old. He is chalk in color, has a silky soft fleece coat, a black nose and he is a first generation Goldendoodle. I will only have him temporarily, as I am flying to California in a few weeks, but I wanted you all to start filling out your applications!! Right now he is in North Carolina, but he may be heading North soon. Now, here are the first shots of this adorable Dood. He is aprox. 40 lbs., calm in the house, well mannered and playful with other dogs.

I mean the amount of energy they generate!! He would fit right in here. They are so calm that this third wouldn't = bedlam. And, I would keep him if I weren't a single Senior citizen on a fixed income. Maintenance for three, and God forbid if one of them needed serious medical care, would be a stretch for me. I think I am smarter to keep the two I have and try to stay within my retirement budget!! Someone who doesn't know the love of a Doodle needs to experience it. I am full up :-)
Linda, Maybe if Joanne doesn't take Baxter, he can stay put :) You just said three is little difference than two..LOL!
It would be lovely if someone on DK got this adorable boy. I think If I lived in the US I would have more than one doodle, in fact I'm sure of it...
Laurie, so far, there doesn't seem to be much difference between two and three. Baxter has just the personality to let Webber be the boss and Seda the mate. They all sleep, eat and poop together!!
Ronna and/or I can meet Jennifer anywhere in North Carolina so she can make a relatively straight shot to Ohio. We got this all worked out Joanne, now you need to "work" Roger :-) I am sure there are some promises you can make.
Linda, I wish I thought I could handle three Doodles :) He sounds wonderful and much better behaved than my two...LOL!! Plus, if he likes Country Music he would fit in here!
Morning Update: Baxter slept all night, in the crate that is in the next room. I put some Country music on the radio for him and not a peep. We all got up and went to "do business" and then took a mile walk. Me and three Doodles. He walks in the heel position, unlike my two, and no pulling at all, ever. I can report he is not afraid of leaf blowers or school busses. He barked once at a big, black great dane that was trying to get away from it's owner and was up on his hind legs looking vicious. I shushed him and the next time round the circle Baxter didn't make a sound and just ignored the big black monster. I am telling you, this is one great Doodle. He is asleep on the floor....So who is going to be first to put in an application for this guy? You won't be sorry.
Linda, he is such a beautiful puppy! I'm sure that there will be lots of people interested in adopting this guy. Thanks so much for fostering him!
If your going to say Look he was wandering around th eneighborhood or in a ditch make sure you let him play in the mud for a bit before you bring him in. then suggest hey honey can you give him a bath real quick he is so dirty, sad and lonely. This is the perfect time for him to bond with the giant fluff ball and never be able to let him go. I dont think anyone with this adorable puppy in front of them could say no. it would also help you greatly if he was able to while standing place one paw over his face and bend his head down.
He looks exactly like Spud as Donna said.
