So, I've convinced my husband to add a 2nd Doodle to our family. We would like to adopt from DRC...any help in what to expect with two Labradoodles. Our Guinness is 1 1/2 and is still very playful.
We are getting excited, goodness Nancy you do have a house full. We just received word that this Labradoodle is available...we keep telling Guinness to expect a little brother. But, Rosco will be a year older, just smaller 35lbs. I going to try and add a picture.
We now have four dogs but two are doodles. Ned turned two in March and we got Clancy (a two year old also) in March. Ned and Clancy are great together. They are very different in size. Ned is 17" tall and 27 pounds and Clancy is 19" tall but 55 pounds! Ned is alpha to Clancy. Clancy is a gentle soul and doesn't play too rough.
Thanks to you both...the one we are concidering would be a year older and smaller, about 35lbs.Guinnes is 50lbs so I'm also thinking (smaller doo-doo). I keep telling HB " Just think when we go out shopping" Guinness look so sad....and he always comes back with something. " Of course he won't we'll have two Doodles looking sad".
Joyce, I will admit I am a strong believer that every dog needs a doggie buddy. Two dogs, IMHO, are easier than one. Kind of like it is easier to cook for two than one. 1 1/2 is a good age to add a second doodle, still puppy enough to enjoy playing tag with the new brother or sister.
Joyce, We just got our second labradoodle, Vern, on 3/27/10. Fudge was 15 months old when we brought Vern home. I was so worried because Fudge likes to play hard and I just didn't know how it would all work out. It has been wonderful. Vern is the BEST puppy, so that has helped a lot, and all the puppy biting he saves for Fudge :) Fudge has been wonderful with Vern and very tolerant. I love having two dogs.
