Yesterday we lost our beloved Tucker to Bladder Cancer. It was the hardest decision we had to make to let him go. We took our other dog, Molokia so that he can have closure as we needed to be with him when he took his last breath.
We will remember the ten years we had with him as he brought so much joy to our home and had us laughing at the funny things he did. Our dog Molokia is so lost and I hope that we can both heal in time

Denise ~ thank you for the friend request. I was standing I similar shoes 8 years ago, when our Standard Poodle (Wilbur) was battling IMHA. We tried everything possible to save him and after 3 blood transfusions, etc, he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They take a piece of your heart when this happens, but I would have it no other way as they bring so much joy to us that I do not ever want to be without a dog in my life. I swore after Wilbur passed, they we would never go to heroics to save our next dog if something should happen to them (God forbid)! After Wilbur passed, I wished that I had let him go when he first showed signs of not responding because it only gave us 3 more months of hopelessness and despair. When I saw your story it brought tears to my eyes because I did not have your strength to let Wilbur go when his time had come. I hope to be stronger should I ever find myself in that position again. You made the right choice for your Tucker and it was a wonderful selfless act. Hugs to you.
Hi Denise ~ The loss of a pet is so heartbreaking, Molokai has lost his best friend and I imagine he is very sad too. Give him lots of hugs and attention as it will help with healing you both. I see you are a new member to DK. When you get a chance be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like. I noticed you just posted a status line about your loss and you are better off starting a discussion, so other members can respond to you. Few members actually post in a status line because it falls off the front page so quickly and you do not get many responses concerning your issue. Again, Welcome to Doodle Kisses!
