About Me:

I am retired from teaching dental hygiene in PA. Bought my goldendoodle in PA, moved to Idaho and married Pat, a guy that I grew up with in KY since we were kids. Our dads were in each others weddings and our parents played cards together. I moved to Syracuse in 6th grade, but we dated when I came back to KY for visits through high school and the first year of college. He also had a regular girlfriend in high school and I always figured that they would get married. He went to U of KY and I went to Bellarmine. They didn't marry.

Pat got the number one draft pick for the year on his 18th birthday and joined the Air Force so he had some say in what he would be trained in doing, leaving college after his first year. He ended up working with the Army Corps of Engineers. When he got out of the service, he stayed on the west coast; Oregon, California and Alaska. He used his skills learned in the Air Force and also did commercial diving.

I quit college after two years, moved to Maryland and went to dental assisting school. Our parents would not let us know much about the other for about 40 years. I went on to the U of KY for dental hygiene and then to Penn State for a Master's degree in Training and Development while living in Lancaster, PA. Taught dental assisting for 10 of those years and dental hygiene for 25 years. We each got married to other people, had children, and then divorced. I have one son who lives in Manheim, PA. Pat has a daughter living in NYC and a son in Alaska.

In 2010 we found each other thanks to my sister who asked me to find him in order for my mom to get a new phone number for his mom...long story. We got reacquainted, and stayed in daily contact by cell phone. In 2013, I went to part-time teaching and was bi-coastal. In May 2015 I decided to take early retirement and move permanently to the west coast. Our plans initially included Cle Elum - Ellensburg, WA area, but a friend took us to the Palouse area of Idaho and we fell in love with the area. We now live in Kendrick, ID on 12 acres.

Colton came with me from PA and Pat and I bought the house in Kendrick from our friend's family, got married in October, and the three of us are very happy in Idaho. Usually it is marriage, house, and a new baby. But at our age it was a dog, house, and marriage.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!

We have a goldendoodle and his name is Colton Landry. His birthday is April 17, 2015. He loves running the property and has recently found the pond. Likes the water, chasing balls and Frisbee and has his favorite sticks. If Pat is outside, Colton is as well. He is a people dog and quite a lover. He loves to go to Home Depot and North Forty. Starbucks is also a favorite stopping place for a Puppichino. He gets excited at the window when I order my latte. He also gets most excited when he sees other doodles.
Sullivan O’Toohey (Sully) was born Nov 7, 2017 in Moscow, ID. His mother is a golden doodle and his father is a labradoodle. He and Colton have a ball together racing around, leaping, and chasing turkeys, chipmunks, and roaming cows.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

I had a golden retriever before and she was amazing and really smart. She died several years ago. My niece has a Labradoodle and I fell in love with Wilson. So a friend's wife was breeding their doodles and I got one of the puppies from last year's litter. What a gem!!!

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?

Throw just about anything and he'll go after it. He is such a lover and cuddler.He is also a mascot at Home Depot and North 40.

A little bit but nothing major

Elite Pet Salon for Colton in Lewiston, ID and Bark Ave Salon for Sully in Orofino

Favorite Doodle Products?

Anything that can be thrown and retrieved. Frisbee is a favorite. Science diet dog food - Chicken and Rice.
