We recently bought a house in Richmond VA and couldn't think of a better addition than a labradoodle. I have wanted one for a loooooong time, but never did I think we would get one. My grandma passed away Nov. 17th and my birthday was a couple days later. I was very upset and didn't really want to even celebrate! My family insisted, so we went to dinner. They gave me a few gifts, and I nearly passed out, when I found the pictures of the labradoodle puppies wrapped up in a gift bag. It was the best present, from the best boyfriend ever and was such a bitter sweet moment. We were all so upset and mourning the loss of my grandma but so excited to introduce the puppy to our families!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Marley is an Australian Labradoodle from Manor Lake Labradoodles in Seattle. He was born October 21st and flew here Dec. 23rd. This was absolutely the longest wait of our lives. He is a dark cream color and super curly!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Well first off, they are the cutest dogs ever, but we really wanted a non-shedding allergy friendly dog.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Did you know there are more dogs in San Francisco than children? And you have just added one more. Nob Hill is a great area. I'm sure you will love it there.
Welcome to San Francisco Doodles! Let us know what area of the city you have moved to and we'll point you in the right direction on the nearest dog parks.

As for fun places for your Doodle in SF - Fort Funston, Crissy Field, and Point Isabel are the best and most popular. There are doodle romps coming up on April 16th (Point Isabel) and April 23rd (San Jose). We are planning to go to both and I hope to see you there!
Our son Kristoffer says it is officially snowing in Richmond, and you will probably arrive here at the end of the week and it should be weather in the 70s. What a change! I think you will like it here in California.
Sunnyvale is about an hour north of us. We live right on Hwy. 101 in Monterey County. There is a great dog park near you in Menlo Park where we usually have an IDOG walk in April. Also there is a park in San Jose called Hellyer Park where we also have doodle romps. So I am sure we will be seeing each other as soon as you get settled. Join the NorCal group to see what is going on in this area.
Leaving our group is sad...... but not sooooooooo sad, because thanks to this forum we will all go with you and still be able to watch Marley grow and see all his shanningans, pains (hopefully few), and happy fun times ahead.
What an exciting new adventure for ALL of you!!! Best wishes and KEEP THAT CAMERA READY at all times.
Where are you moving to in California? I live on the Central Coast of California, and our son is going to school in Richmond. He is getting his master's degree from VCU in May. And we have something else in common - we also have an ALD. Was Marley born October 17, 2010? I am guessing it was October 17, 2009. He looks about a year old. Hope we meet up in California. We are near Carmel - the most dog friendly city in this area. Looks like Marley likes the beach.
Hello GRAD member,
We have a new and exciting event coming July 26th, from 1-4 to celebrate our recent jump to 100 members!
We will be having a BBQ/Picnic and a lake for the doodles to go swimming at The Dude Ranch in Glen Allen. Please check out the discussion on the group page entitled "Party Time" and respond there if you plan to attend so I can get a doodle head count for the facility.
Thanks and hope to see you there!
