Joanne, I have seen them in person many times, a little closer than I liked actually. I was driving on the highway at night and there were 3 of them. I managed not to hit them but the darn things wouldn't get off the road and kept smelling the headlights. To the best of my knowledge they do not stink anymore or less than any other wild animals. I have actually gone moose hunting with my dad. We can walk to the end of our street and go onto a woods road and you will occassionly see a moose, although I try very hard not to. This guy gave you a moose and you married him anyway, now that's love. A couple of years ago a moose actually when into a supermarket in the center of the city when the automatic door opened. Yes, we really do have moose alerts and there is a campaign to cull some of the moose population because of the number of accidents and fatalities involving moose.

Jennifer--no it is not something they hear every day.  I was kind of shocked I said it myself.  It just gets so comical with Starlit's fears sometimes.  You just never know.

Donna--are you serious?  I imagine they can do some serious damage.  I always wanted to see one in person.  I think it would be fascinating to see them in the wild.  I heard they STINK really bad though.  But so cute are the mooses

Vern--I love you.

F. Parker--no, FJ did not make the moose, although he could make one. He is very good with wood.   I think he should make Doodles!  Right.  I might buy one of those.

WHY is there a moose in my yard?   It was a gift from my boyfriend ( now husband ) some years ago.  He lives under the weeping Apple tree.   He is out in the sun to be cleaned and water sealed this week.

I'm not much of a COLLECTOR, but once upon a time I thought I was collecting Moose.  I really love them.  But as all my collections I just never follow through.  This one was a keeper though.  I have to HIDE HIM because he has almost been stolen many times.

We have moose alerts when moose are spotted on the highways, do I need to send out a moose alert for your backyard or would that be a moostake?
