WELL OF COURSE IT IS NOT OKAY! But I needed your attention :)
We all know better on this site that there is some real junk out there that our dogs could be snacking on. I learned even more when I my doodle had a sensitive stomach. I always had labs that could eat dinner, the garbage, and the box from the pizza and still ask for more. So now what do I do?
The past few weeks I have been asked a few times about dog treats. Here is another one of the recipes I use for the crate before I leave in the morning. This idea was given to me by DK member Adrianne Matzkin and since then I play around with it a lot.
Another reason I do this is because I do not have the patience to clean out those Kong things. Ugh. I also have two dogs now and the budget is tight .... and you know how that goes. Bully Sticks and all those other great treats get expensive. Rawhides can really make some dogs sick. So try ,,,,

Take your old marrow aka leg bones, wash them out real good and restuff them for a crate time snack. ( I only use them once or twice-Max then throw out )
- Kibble
- Peanut Butter
- Yogurt
- Crumbs left over from the dog biscuits
- Or any foods your dogs enjoy
Throw it all in a bowl and mix. Freeze.
Pull one out in the morning rush before you crate your dogs.
I use different toppings. Of course the dogs don't care but I think sprinkles are important :)
Tonight's sprinkles were cranberries. Banana slices, carrots, and cookie crumbs also look good.

Anyone else have great treats to share? I am lazy and I do not cook :) So let me know what you do--but keep it simple. Ha Ha
Post some of your recipes in the DK Cookbook!
