update on sketch. sorry to be a slow communicater. the first week sketch was home i tripped over her, fell down the front steps, and broke my right arm. thankfully sketch was okay, but now she is stuck with a one-armed owner. can't pick her up, get her into the car, catch her if she decides to play keep away, etc.before i broke my arm, i would have described sketch as a wild child, full of energy and mischief. now, however, she is extraordinarily sweet, cuddly and attentive. is it possible that she has modified her personality to accomodate me? my arm required further surgery last week to insert a plate to reinforce the broken bone. fortunately i was able to place her for several days with a local breeder of toy poodles who has several puppies at home who are about sketch's age. sketch came home from her extended play date wild and rowdy, but within hours she had calmed down and decided that her favorite thing to do is to lay beside me on the couch.
Thanks for the update!! Sorry about your arm. I can't imagine being injured right now....Dude is a lot of work. But I am enjoying him and totally in love. I love the name "Sketch". Suits her. I saw her at 6 weeks and then on puppy pickup day. She was a consistently feisty and lovely little pup. Keep us updated on her progess.
Yes...these are smart doods and I'm sure she did modify her personality. My gosh, so sorry to hear about your arm. I totally understand how it could happen...Izzy is constantly under your feet and I have tripped on her many times. Thank goodness they're getting bigger.
We are off to the vet today for her check-up and another round of shots. I'll let y'all know how much the little rugrat weighs!!
Oh, jeez! I'm so sorry to hear about your arm! Sketch sounds like a sweetheart. These doodles are so smart and intuitive it doesn't surprise me that she modified her behavior. Take care - and get well soon!
