Carmel Beach anyone??!!!!!

I know we've discussed this in the past but nothing solidified soooooo I thought it would be a fun idea to start a discussion.....It would be fun to gather up our (close enough) ABD Doods and spend a weekend or day in Carmel. August seems far enough away to plan a romp at this point, but Sept is good too. Any interest or thoughts!!! Best places to stay over???

What time? Carmel is usually cloudy and cold even in summer so I'd say early afternoon?

We're doing 1 day trip.

If you're looking for a dog friendly hotel you could use www.expedia.com to do the search. After your search, use the "Hotel Preferences" on the left to choose "Pet Allowed". Most of the hotels are crappy but this trip is about DOODLES and I don't think doodles care! :)

I was looking into a few bed and breakfast hotels but they all require 2 nights stay on weekends, which the total will be expensive like $500~ $700 for two nights + pet fee. (usually $30/dog/night, $50 two dogs/night). I'll still list them here if anyone's interested. They are all very dog friendly and have awesome reviews.

• Lamp Lighter Inn & Sunset House Suites   (Best location, few min walk to the beach)

          Only 2 rooms available on 8/27

          Early Bird room $255/night

          Concourse House $350/night

• Forest Lodge Cottages

          Only 1 room available on 8/27, all rooms are out on 8/26

          Garden house $255/night

• Vagabond's House Inn

          I didn't call this one.

          $275/night

• Carmel Country Inn

          Luxery King Sutdio $325/night 

The one Karin booked (Hofsas House Hotel) looks nice and is a bit more affordable but also requires 2 nights stay.

I would love to do this. Don't know if Jellybean can do the drive. It's a long one from SoCal and she gets carsick. Will work on longer drives this summer and see how she does by August. I love Carmel :)

Update: 3 weeks away........... Saturday, Aug 27th at 11:00. Fingers and paws crossed for a warm sunny day:)

Possibles are: Bonnie, Kona and Owen, Stephanie and Jellybean, Kathy, Winston, Freya and Bella, Joanie and Kashmir, Kerri B and Zoey

Meeting location: It was suggested to meet at the beach at the end of Ocean Ave. Does that work for y"all? If those of you who go there periodically have a better place to meet let us know.

We had a great time and there are many exhausted doods. The weather was perfect. Thank you ALL for coming. It was a lot of fun to actually meet y'all in person!!!!! Let's do it again next year!!!! Thank you so much Carla for organizing such a great day!  It was wonderful to meet everyone in person, and to get to have met such beautiful, tail wagging ABD doodles!  All sizes and colors were represented! So fun!

My group shot came out as a video.  (Hubby had it on the wrong setting for that pic!)  And I love the shot of the Tula-Micah sibs! So cute!
