I have been putting off trimming pepper's ears. I understand the *idea* of "shaving from the base of the ear to increase airflow", but I have little sense of where that is. I don't want the shaved area to be visible when his "cocker" ears are hanging down. Is the "base" just the inside of the flap?

Any suggestions appreciated!

I have heard of what you are proposing.  I use a groomer for my boys.  I know she trips shorter under the ears but never shaves.  To get airflow you can put the ears in a scrunchy for a while.

They actually let you put their ears in a scrunchy??

It doesn’t stay on forever. :-)

I'm going to try a scrunchy but does anyone have any other ideas to give some occasional air flow to the ears besides shaving?
