First haircut ideas for shaggy puppy

Taco has his first real haircut this Saturday and I am looking for any photos of cute haircut ideas for him!  Perhaps there is already a thread for this but I couldn’t find it when I scrolled through.  I want to keep his facial hair longer but still see his eyes.  Not sure how short to ask groomer to cut him.  I love his coat but he is too hot and summer is approaching!

There is a grooming group here. Remember dogs don’t sweat in the same way humans do and their coats help keep them cool rather than overheating them. I’d look st pictures of doodles with similar coats with cuts you like.

Taco looks just like my Kiki! Kiki's hair is getting long. I heard its best not to cut doodles hair all over till they are about a year old. At least hold off till their adult coat is in. A puppy cut is fine though. Just trim around the eyes, paws and private area's. I trimmed around Kiki's eyes and a little off the top of her head. Came out pretty good for first time!

Kiki does look a lot like Taco!  She is so cute!    Taco’s coat is very thin and fluffy.  He doesn’t mat at all (yet).  We just had the groomer take a little off on his body and legs and trim up the face ,paws and private area.  So far we are lucky with his non-shedding low-maintenance coat!

Well Kiki is six months old now and her hair on body is three inches long. Did a puppy cut but didn't touch hair on her body. She is gorgeous with that long hair but have to brush it about everyday. I know you took Taco to groomers. Did they trim her body with shears or clippers? By any chance do you know what size blade they used? Going to do myself and I would love to get the length and look of Taco's haircut.

Taco went for a puppy cut as well and just got his paws and sanitary area clean.  The second time he got a full body cut. and they used clippers.  I cant recall what length they used, but I know my groomer said even though Taco has a lot of hair, he doesn't have a double coat and it is thin, so she didn't want to cut it too short.  I think I wanted 1" but she went longer.  He is due for another cut soon, and this time I will pay attention to the clipper guard!

Or you could get a scissor cut.
