Hi there,

I need some advise.  Koda will be 6 months old next week and she is going for her first professional groom.  Should we get her hair cut short?

One of Luna's nicknames was "bubbles"... because she liked to shove her face in puddles (even muddy ones) and blow bubbles :p

The groomers we are going to used to scissor cut before she had to give up  actual grooming.  Her daughter is now the main groomer in their business.  I am not sure if her daughter scissors. I used to take my bichon to this place but I had to stop going because they don't groom on Saturdays and I work out of town.

Do what you like but I think, since she isn't matting, I'd clean her up ( a little bit of trimming) but keep the exact length she currently is.  If that seems not to work you can go shorter next time.

Thanks Nancy,

She isn't matting.  I actually love her hair.  Her behavior (not so much).  She is acting like a rambunctious pre-teen. Still a kid but getting stubborn and hard headed.

Has she been to a training class yet?  If not, now is a good time to take her to a group obedience class.  It will bond her to you and she'll learn to respect you more.  It will be fun to do the exercises each week and note her progress.

She doesn’t look like a puppy anymore.  She looks great.

Here I sit reading everyone’s mishaps and my Cubby, 4 months old, had runny poo today and had it everywhere!  How do you take care of and brush the bum?  This is my first goldendoodle.

Shampoo (possibly twice) and then blow dry then brush/comb it out to prevent mats.  Could trim the area a bit while you're at it too if you have blunt tipped scissors.
