Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Still trying to figure out this forum. Sorry, might have posting this twice.

Here is Gigi. She is allegedly a multigen labradoodle, and was supposed to be around 35 lbs fully grown. She is already at 20 lbs at 3.5 months, and looks nothing like a labradoodle.I get asked if she is a golden all the time, but she doesn’t even have golden in her. Also, every other person comments on how soft her coat is. There are no curls, but no hair either.

She is a very good girl, but very intriguing! Thoughts on how she will look when she grows up?

Duly noted. Thank you!

Labradoodle breeders do have the opportunity to have genetic testing done to see if a parent dog carries the genes for what is called "Improper Coat", which basically means it is possible for them to produce offspring without furnishings or long curly/wavy coats. The testing is offered through the same companies that do the genetic testing for hips, eyes, etc. Without that testing, there is no way to know that a parent who looks "doodle-y" can produce offspring who don't.
Doodles are like a box of chocolates; you never know what you'll get. Part of the fun of owning a mixed breed dog.

If anybody is interested, here is Gigi at 6 months. Looks like a mini Golden Retriever.

Gorgeous! Does she shed? I think mine sheds more than a retriever!!!

Thank you! She almost didn't shed in the beginning, but then at 7 months my apartments was covered in tumbleweeds of hair. Now she is back to moderate shedding, I am also using a de-shedder and it helps!

She looks very similar to my Bode who is a F1B goldendoodle. I was asked all the time if he was a lab.
