Hi, Jennifer!  I just read your post on "Shedding Doodles".  Sounds just like our experience.  My sister and I researched Doodles (and Breeders) just as you did.  We are in NJ and drove 4 hours to York PA to pick up our 1st Doodle, Sydney 9 years ago.  A non-shedding dog was a high priority for us.  We bonded with her on the drive home.  She did not look like other Doodle puppies but we were told that her coat would change up to three years.  (not true when it comes to shedding).  Sydney didn't start shedding until she was about 6 months old.  She still sheds at 9 years old - 365 days a year (some months worse than others).  We have invested in several Dyson vacuum cleaners which are our best friends.  We did get a second Doodle from a CT Breeder a year after Sydney.  Olivia does not shed.  They have very different personalities and very different coats.  Both are Australian Labradoodles, Sydney (a 7 and 9 generation) and Olivia (a 2nd an 3rd generation).  We have tried to let our resentment for the Breeder go but the shedding is worse than any dog we know of.  We do love Sydney and she loves us unconditionally.  Unfortunately, we were taking out her shedding on her (and we didn't realize it).  It was not physical but it sure was emotional.  We have accepted the shedding since that will not change but we have not accepted being taken by the Breeder.  Our Breeder knew we wanted a non-shedding dog.  We have been told that Breeders cans tell when a puppy will be a shedding dog, especially those Breeders who specialize in Allergy issues.  Dexter looks adorable and will most likely become your best friend in the whole wide world.  We hope you are better to Dexter than we were to Sydney.  We continue to make it up to her now that we know the shedding is here to stay.  Dexter is a very beautiful Doodle!
