I am a Nurse, married and love Cancun. We live in Albany NY and host two Doodle ROMPS a year...and invite all to join...We usually have about 25-30 Doodles and 10 "wannabies". They all have a great time and sometimes it is hard to tell them apart!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
I have a Goldendoodle, Maggie, who is 2 1/2 years old and a public angel and private devil! I also have a 12 year old Border Collie, Oreo, who is a good ol' girl! and tolerates Maggie well. I had my first Goldendoodle for 13 years and love the breed and temperment and silliness they have.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Rescue
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
The first Doodle, Blondie, was adopted from the Humane Society on looks, good nature and smartness. She was a Therapy Dog and went to Nursing Homes and Hospitals and loved everyone. She was 6 months old and "ready made".
My second doodle, Maggie, was a specific choice based on my experience with Blondie. I love the breed and look of them. They just make me smile with every look.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Smooze, go to the dog park and just comb, brush and touch her.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Professional groomer every 4-5 weeks and me in between.
Hi Kim! Thanks for the email. Where are you getting your puppy from? how old will she be? You will have to bring her over to play! My telephone number is 869 2338 and I will let you know about dates for the next ROMP!
Hi Barbara! I'm from Scotia-Glenville, NY - not too far from you. I was interested in the Doodle Romps you have twice a year. We are going to pick up our puppy in September and want her to have lots of friends!!!
Oh and don't forget to poke around the site. Look at the different tabs along the top of each page (Main, Invite, My Page, Events, Forum, etc) and you will see a lot of great features we have here). If you want to start a discussion go to "FORUM" and click on "start a new discussion". If you want to post about an upcoming Romp go to "EVENTS" and add an event there. Also note that we have several groups: New York and East Coast that you can join to connect with people near you!
We feed Cass "Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul SENIOR" and she does fine on it. She only gets 1.5 cups per day. She got a little too chunky about a year ago and we cut down her food and she lost 18 lbs over the year. In the house she is a bit low key because she's arthritic (she also was diagnosed with bone cancer recently, but you wouldn't know it!) but outside and on walks (she walks off leash half the time) she's a go getter!
Welcome to Doodle Kisses, Barbara! We have a border collie as well, she recently turned 13 and has more energy when out and about than my 2 year old labradoodle! LOL Look forward to photos of your furry kids =)
