About Me:: My husband and I have 2 wonderful children and 1 labradoodle. We love living in the desert Southwest.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Henry is our F1B labradoodle. He started out chocolate and slowly turned to phantom! He lives with us and 16 free range chickens. He is an obsessive retriever and he loves the water! He may be mostly poodle, but he is ALL Labrador!

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: We love Labradors! But, I didn't want to clean up the hair all over my floors, so we looked at the labradoodle. What we got (after much research) was a wonderful Labrador that does not shed!! He is the best dog we have ever had. I have also noticed that I am mildly allergic to most dogs, but not Henry.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Henry loves to run with me! When I put my running shoes on, he gets sooo excited! We love to take him camping and to the lake.
We also spray the hose at him and he loves to bite at the spray. And, of course, he will fetch a ball for hours!
One thing that is fun to watch is when he chases the rooster!! The rooster is really mad and aims to hurt him, but he is just playing. It is hilarious!

At 6:25am on March 15, 2010, Sally loves Maple & Lucky said…: Hi Carol - I read your posting on Kemp's page about Henry's color. My Maple is his twin, for sure!. She will turn one in May this year and has quite a bit of silvery white hair moving in on her back already. I was curious because I I thought I bought a chocolate but it turns out that this color is called "cafe". Cafes often look like chocolates and can have chocolate litter mates. I like being able to see her face better as she lightens up more and more!

My "Ripley" was once a more chocolate color....he was referred to as a Chocolate Cafe. But now he is starting to have that "phantom" effect and his face is graying just a bit. I think Ripley is smaller than Henry too....and Ripley is a little chubby because he's kinda lazy. Henry is much more lean and fit. :-) Ripley just turned 4 years old.
