About Me:: I'm the creator and owner of OurDeafDogs.com (www.ourdeafdogs.com), and offer local dog walking, pet sitting, and pet taxi services in Alamosa, Colorado (NOT Taos; the form validation thingy didn't recognize my zip code.)

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: They're Goldendoodles--actually, 3/4 retriever and 1/4 poodle, although you wouldn't be able to tell without knowing their parents. Their names are Blanche and Rose, after two of the characters on the TV show "The Golden Girls".

We got them from a family who bred their Golden Retriever to their neighbor's Goldendoodle. The family wanted to sell the litter to a pet store, but found out the hard way that without vaccinations and veterinary care, the pet store wouldn't touch them. So they ended up just giving the pups away, and, lucky us, we got the last two.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Rehome

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Since my husband has asthma that tends to be aggravated by dander, we were looking for a hypoallergenic dog such as a Bichon, Kerry Blue terrier, or Bedlington. We are far from wealthy, however, and we live in a rural community that is far away from people who breed anything besides sporting dogs or herding dogs.

My hubby happened to be walking down the street one day and he saw this pup who looked almost exactly like what we were looking for, so he stopped the woman and asked about it. Turns out the pup was the brother of the two sisters we ended up with :-).

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Take them for off-leash runs or bike rides and throw sticks into the Rio Grande for them. They love it!

Does your doodle(s) shed?: A little bit but nothing major

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: All 4 Paws, the only doggy day care in town.

Favorite Doodle Products?: Um, right now don't have any. I certainly want to learn more...all that running around in the weeds has made their coats a dry, matted mess!
