Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hey, all ~
I'm sure this has never been asked before, but the dry climate, weed whacking, and swimming my pups engage in on a regular basis have made their poor coats a matted mess (which, yes, is partly my fault, too, for not brushing them more). What's your recommendation for a really moisturizing, yummy shampoo and conditioner?
Thanks bunches,
~ Catharine

Bedhead, Horse Mane 'N Tail, or Cowboy Magic all have shampoos, conditioners, and detanglers.
We like Mane 'N Tail too! Both the shampoo and conditioner are great and a little goes a long way
Sweet! Thanks so much, Nancy, Sandy, et al!
My family always had short-haired or herding dogs that had low-maintenance coats, so I'm new to the whole grooming thing, It has been quite the learning curve! I look forward to hanging with everybody here and learning lots more. :-)

The matting tends to get worse if you wet the hair before getting the mats out. I used a mat comb that has a bladed side to keep the mats down, but eventually had to have him shaved at about 11 months when his puppy coat was changing- just matted in front of my eyes, it seemed. Apparently it can also be very uncomfortable as it pulls.
I love Chris Christensen products. My favorite are the Spectrum 10 Shampoo (smells great) and also the BEST PRODUCT EVER - Liquid Silk Protein. I had a breeder tell me that Bexter's fur was the softest doodle fur she ever felt... and it smells AWESOME!
