I am a mom of 2 kids age 12 and 15.

I have one Australian mini labradoodle named Ginger. She is almost 1 yr old. We also are co-owners of a 6 yr old female redfoot tortoise - my brother and I take turns keeping her.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?

We used to have a toy poodle - she passed away at age 15 and my kids grew up only knowing her as an older somewhat cranky dog. In researching we wanted a larger dog that was cross bred, good-natured, and had hair to avoid allergy problems.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?

While I miss the poodly things about my beloved dog, Q, like how she could run, jump and stand completely vertical and problem-solve on a dime, I am also loving the new doodly things. I love how Ginger shoves things in her mouth (record is four adult socks) and how she plays fetch. I'm betting that she will be good with a frisbee.

Ginger loves to play fetch in our back yard and go on walks with a goldendoodle puppy friend. We are also in training classes every week and my goal is to acheive Good Citizen award for her and become a therapy dog.
